If you previously had a cesarean birth and are committed to achieving a vaginal birth this time, we are supportive partners in your care. Together, we’ll review your prior records to assess the circumstances surrounding your caesarean birth.

A prior cesarean birth can creates a backdrop of doubt and fear that, as a team, we’ll work to resolve.

Guiding practices

• Supporting spontaneous labor up to 42 weeks
• Pitocin induction if clinically indicated
• Spinning babies exercise to promote ideal positioning prior to and during labor

To ensure a vaginal birth is a safe option for you there are a few required screenings:

• Consultation with capital health maternal fetal medicine
• 20 week anatomy scan

Words cannot express how thankful I am to have been able to work with MCA and Nicole and Liz! I just had a successful VBAC a few days ago, and I am 100% certain I was successful because of them. I could not find a provider nearby who would support me going past 41 weeks (my previous 2 were both late, so this was non negotiable for me) and who would be okay with “big babies” because of my previous 2 being big. They were SO supportive and SO relaxed when I passed my due date, and even into the 41 week range. I was able to labor at home as long as possible before heading into their office (5 mins from hospital) where Liz did one little manipulation during a contraction that I swear put me into transition and cut my labor time down dramatically! My goal was to get to the hospital with no time for the epdirual, and basically be ready to push, and that’s exactly what happened! I can’t explain the kindness and the help and support that Liz offered during labor. Unlike my previous Experiences with OBGYNs, Liz was at my side 100% of the time. And every position she had me move to made labor progress so quickly. So happy to have been able to go into spontaneous labor at 41.2, and for a non medicated, quick labor of my 9lb13oz chunk!!

I can’t recommend MCA enough! I only wish I had known about them for my previous 2!
