Postpartum & Newborn Care

For home birth families, the midwives will return to your home on the second or third day postpartum. We ask that all parents arrange for their baby’s care by a pediatrician, pediatric nurse practitioner, or family practice physician within the first 48 hours after birth. Please visit our home birth webpage for more details.

If you delivered in the hospital, the midwives will visit each day until discharge.

Two weeks postpartum you will have a phone visit with one of our midwives. At 6 week postpartum, you and your baby will return for an in person visit.

Our midwives are readily available around the clock to provide you and your family with support during the postpartum period.

If you desire additional support, including mental health services and postpartum doulas, our midwives are able to work with you to coordinate care.
