Our Founders
The visionary midwives who established our practice and shaped our philosophy of care

Gale Louise Aucott
Founder
“In 1990, I founded Midwifery Care Associates to serve our community, establishing home birth as a safe, legal, and accessible alternative to standard hospital practices. Our mission soon expanded to provide support and empowerment in both home and hospital settings, tailored to individual needs and preferences. My vision has evolved into the mindful creation of a care system that strengthens trust in natural, physiologic birth while upholding contemporary standards of care for everyone.”

Pam Rosser
Founder
“My desire to become a midwife began during my second pregnancy when I chose to have my baby with midwives in an out of hospital setting. The difference between the care I received with midwives and the care I had received in my first pregnancy and birth with a doctor in a hospital was dramatic and changed my life.”
Together, Louise and Pam built Midwifery Care Associates on a foundation of trust, compassion, and respect for natural birth. Their legacy continues through our current team of dedicated midwives who carry forward their commitment to personalized, family-centered care.

Elizabeth R. Clarkson
CNM, MSN
When I was pregnant with my first child, I knew I wanted to have midwives and birth out of hospital. I used a larger practice and had a planned birth center birth. It was not quite the experience I had envisioned and in 2000 when pregnant with my second and living in the area I discovered Midwifery Care Associates.

Nicole M. Myers
CNM, MSN
I believe I wanted to be a midwife before I even knew such a career existed. I began working as a volunteer doula and then in 2003 became a birth assistant for Midwifery Care Associates.

Kel McGowan
CM, MSM
As a former client, midwifery student, and birth assistant with MCA, I was so delighted to be invited to join the team as a midwife. I truly understand how special the care we provide is, and I am so pleased to be able to "pay it forward."

Sandy Tew
Office Manager
I joined Midwifery Care Associates as the Office Manager in 2024. I've lived my entire life in this community and proudly served in the healthcare field locally in several different practices for well over a decade.
